Carbon peel
A carbon peel is a modern cosmetic treatment that uses a laser and a special carbon gel that penetrates the skin's pores.
About the treatment
We apply a thin layer of gel with carbon particles to cleansed skin. The carbon enters the openings of the sebaceous glands and binds sebum, dead skin and impurities. Then we pass the laser over the skin. Its energy breaks up the carbon particles together with the impurities, which we remove with a layer of dead cells, without mechanically damaging the skin. During the treatment you feel warmth and a slight tingling.
The treatment thoroughly cleanses the pores, makes them less visible and reduces shine. The laser energy also has an anti-inflammatory effect, helps to smooth the skin's structure, lighten minor pigmentation and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. After the treatment the skin is fresh, smooth and radiant, and further treatments help to keep this effect.
Carbon peeling works especially well on oily and combination skin with blackheads and enlarged pores, but also when the complexion is grey and tired. The treatment takes 1 hour. We perform it on the face, neck and back.

After the treatment: what to expect
After a carbon peel the skin is slightly pink and warm, and sometimes feels a little tight. The redness usually goes away within a few hours to 1-2 days. You return to your daily routine straight away. You can put on makeup after 24 hours.
For 1-2 days you may notice dryness and slight flaking. The skin is more sensitive to the sun at that point, so use a cream with SPF 50 and avoid sunbathing and solariums. For 3-5 days do not use acids, retinol or mechanical scrubs, and for a day avoid saunas, swimming pools and intense exercise.
We usually do the treatment as a series, at intervals agreed during the consultation. The cleansing and smoothing effect is visible after the first visit, and further visits make it last.

The treatment takes about an hour. The number of treatments is individual: one treatment refreshes the skin and a series helps the result last longer.
The skin is cleansed and smoother right after the treatment, and the full effect shows after about a week. The effect lasts several weeks, and longer with a series.
The skin is slightly pink and warm for a few hours to 1-2 days. You can go straight back to your daily routine. For a few days use a cream with SPF 50 and avoid acids, retinol and solariums.
We do not do a carbon peel with active skin infections or inflammation in the treatment area, or with pustular acne in its acute phase. Pregnancy and breastfeeding, tanned skin or skin fresh from the solarium, a tendency to keloids and photosensitising medicines also rule it out. Before we start, we will ask you about your medicines and the state of your skin.
A few rules are worth remembering before the treatment. Avoid sun and solarium for at least 2 weeks before the treatment.
Pores are deeply cleansed and excess sebum is reduced. The skin is smoother, with a better structure, and tone is more even as pigmentation lightens. There are also fewer blemishes and inflammation. The treatment also stimulates the skin to produce collagen and elastin.
